Behind the scenes on a miniature VFX shoot: a hand-built scale model of modern Naples, complete with working window lights, a raised autostrada full of tiny cars, and a cruise ship in the port — sitting in the shadow of a rigged miniature Mount Vesuvius.

Everything you see was captured in a single take. Pyrotechnic mortars in the crater, compressed-air ash cannons, and a full pyroclastic surge running down the flank into the northern districts.
